powercolor 6950 2gb or 1?

I'm looking to upgrade my gtx275 to play BF3. I only have 1 monitor with DVI (no HDMI). I'm considering getting a smaller second monitor to run team speak and browse the internet during map changes but this will probably never eventuate.

I have found a powercolor 6950 1gb for $249, or the 2gb for $285 but from what i've read there is no benifits to the extra gig with only one monitor.

any recommendations on powercolor, alternate models or 2gb over 1?

cheers

Update:

my pc specs are i5 750, p55 motherboard, 12gb of 1600mhz ram (will only run at 1333mhz) and a 500 watt psu.

2GB would be a tiny bit faster depending on the RAM you have. 2GB means it has 2GB of dedicated video memory. Would it increase performance? Possibly rendering time would be reduced. Again, depending on the RAM you have it would make a difference or not do anything. I would stick with 1GB. I dont think it's worth it. Nice card you have. You dont need it for BF3 though. I have an HD6870 and it runs fine on Ultra settings. Ill turn off AA in mutiplayer to get better FPS and make my card run cooler. I would do the same, especially if you're getting an HD6950 with dual fans in the card. I hear they break down easily. I have an ATI HD6870 1GB with a heat spreader case. Works very nice on BF3.
