question about legally changing name?
my legal name is Jamie but I don't like the name at all. I was thinking of changing it to Amie instead. Would that be weird? Also does it cost money?

I don't think it's weird. If I had a masculine nickname as a first name, I wouldn't like it either. And yes, it costs money.

No it wouldn't be weird.. Honestly though I really really really prefer the name Jamie over Amie. Plus, if you spell it like that you'll constantly have to correct people.
Yes it does cost money. I don't know if this is true for your state/country, but if you're under 18 it costs a lot less to change your name. I changed mine when I was 19 and it cost almost $200. It would've been half that if I did it while I was still a child.

I don't think it would be weird as long as you have always gone Amie and did not just decide all of a sudden that you like that more than Jamie.
I legally changed my name (Aarlabyth) to my middle name (Kendall). But i have always gone by Kendall so It wasnt a big deal at all.
The cost depends on where you live.

Well I would get people to call you by your new name for a few months before you legally change it, so you can see if you actually like it. It depends on what province you live in. For example, in Alberta the fee is $120.
