What's with pick up lines?

They serve to catch her attention. Honest and specific aren't going to work....

I plan to make some small talk with you to find out some personal info from you. Eventually, I would like to have sex with you provided you are disease and drug free AND not a crazy woman. my most successful pickup line was...

*walk up to cute person and in my most ridiculously suave voice I can muster say* " you know, I've had heat stroke before" and wait for a reply...it has worked, probably not because of the perceived awesomeness of my tendency towards heat stroke but because it was so random and I can follow it up by actually being able to talk to people in a genuine manner

pick up lines only work on slutty people looking to hook up...but so would saying almost anything

Try the "Nice melons" line at the grocery store. It may not work, but you can make it sound innocent with enough practice.
