Do you have to pay taxes on packaging?
I have an online store, and we ship for free. But we buy boxes and peanuts for packaging. The people who we buy peanuts from doesn't charge us tax, but the box guys do. The peanut guy says as long as we have the resale, we don't pay taxes, the box guy says unless you use the item to manufacturer, or you resell the packaging materials, you cannot claim to be tax free.
Which is right? PS: This is California

check the Calif. www.boe.ca.gov for what is and is not taxable, I do not believe boxes are taxable
