MW3 or Skyrim - Which one should I buy? (PS3).?

I have been playing the COD franchise for a long time and love their games, and I have recently played some MW3 and its really fun and improved, but Skyrim has been getting SUCH good reviews, and lots of people are saying its a lot better. Which one should I get?

Note: I don't want a on sided opinion, I want an opinion from someone who likes both games, like me, who can give me advice and reasons on which I should buy. Thanks :)

If you are looking for a more relaxed, slower game, then Skyrim would be the one I would buy. It has around 100-150 hours (if you decide to explore everything and such) or 40-50 hours (if you dont) of gameplay. It is easily one of the best games that has come out this year.

Modern Warfare 3 however, will give you a more exciting, fast paced experience. If you are into the online aspect of COD, you can get MANY hours of fun out of it, quite possibly more then Skyrims SP campaign can offer you.

Personally, I would recommend MW3, since the multiplayer can give you more hours of playtime then Skyrims can. Skyrim is also still buggy, and unless you are buying it for PC (where you can fix a lot of these bugs), then Skyrims bugs might cause you a lot of unnecessary headaches.

I play (and enjoy) both, although on 360. My recommendation comes with a warning. If you don't mind the quirky, and sometimes annoying, bugs in Bethesda's games (the PS3 versions are notoriously buggy), then get that game immediately. However, if the bugs bother you, you might want to way until January or February, when most of the major bugs should be (hopefully) fixed.

So, if you can forgive the bugs (which include some glitched quests that become uncompletable, like the Companions questline is for me right now), get Skyrim. Either way, you want to get both as soon as possible.

I think this year's COD is the best one yet. They added Kill Confirmed mode which, while not stopping it completely, does drastically reduce campers. Also, they are allowing (and encouraging) players to report glitchers and cheaters, 1600 of which were banned 2 weeks ago with more bans being handed out since. Plus, the Activision team is more vocal about helping people this time around (especially on Twitter). Keep in mind, however, that you will need Elite (which is another $50) to get all the monthly DLC packs the cheapest way. I'm a bit confused on how it all works, but it has been reported in several places (including Twitter) that paid Elite customers will get the DLC free, but they haven't said what it will be (map packs, gun skins, or whatever). If you can afford it, get the hardened edition, which at $100 will save you $10 for the game and a year of Elite.

So, your choice boils down to this: $100 for MW3 and all DLC, or $60 for Skyrim and all it's bugs.

Let me close by saying that I love both games. I play both almost every day, sometimes for hours. I have always tolerated Bethesda's bugs because the games are just that good, and Skyrim is AMAZING! But, as you are a PS3 player, the bugs may be too much for you. The articles in my source just a few of the things you should read. Try searching at your favorite site for "Skyrim PS3".

Well I've played neither game, but everywhere I go I only hear good things about skyrim, people are raving about it left right and centre, I have seen adverts and such for it and I do agree, it really looks fantastic but I don't own any consoles it can go on :( So I would say get that, from a completely third party observation :P

i have both games and i love them both, if you want an amazing shooter which is fast paced action with stunning online play i would go for cod mw3 but if you have hours to spend and want to spend over 300 hours on a game with stunning graphics probably the best story line there is and is always something to do skyrim the game for you if you dont have psn stay away from mw3 the story is **** it is a the same as mw2 pretty much but the online is way better, personally i would recommend skyrim since it will last months and months of game play, but mw3 is better if your looking for online and wanting to play with friends most people are getting skyrim tho

Since they are two totally different games, I'm gonna answer like this:

Do you want a FPS game that you can beat in a few days, but then have multiplayer afterwards?

Or, do you want a game with over 100+ hours (I think) with a lot of side quests you can do after you finish the main questline?

Don't base a game over the reviews it gets because that may not be your type of game. Do you like RPG's? Since you've been playing the COD franchise for a long time, I say get MW3.

    Source(s): I have both games.

MW3 is large for my section, there are numerous people playing it, you'll no longer get bored with it each and every time instantly. The maps are large. we've new gun opportunities. in case you loved MW2 you're going to adore MW3 it opportunities up proper the position MW2 left off.

MW3 now has a lot of noooobs, which unless you find good, is very very annoying. There are already stealth bomber glitches which are just **** taking. However Skyrim is much more intellectual because you have to think on what your going to do. I have both games and within a week i found MW3 a complete and utter joke to play on. I went to Skyrim and loved it! Skyrim is definitely worth your money!

I am an avid RPG player and I have to say that Skyrim is terrible. All those Elder Scrolls games are terrible. They are boring as hell! I ended up getting Skyrim because of the hype and I was very disappointed. 70% of the game is walking around. It takes like 20 minutes to get from city to city. The combat is extremely boring as well. MW3 on the other hand is hours of fun. Once you are done, you can play Online Multi-player.

I would buy Skyrim all the way. MW3 will drop in price and be in bargain bins before you know it. I think that Skyrim will be selling for 40-50 bucks a year from now.

    Skyrim. Definitely.

It has improved graphics. Brand new engine. Everything is detailed. Many more things to do in the game. A lot more quest. You fight dragons! I mean, how cool is that? You don't see that in every game.

Skyrim for game of the year!
