Is Philippines a Republic or a Slave Country?
I come to think what is happening to our country. Our Commerce and Industries are owned 99% Chinese. Our government is ruled 98% Chinese. So what does the Filipinos have? Even the Filipino Labor was marginalized by our Chinese Dominated Government. The two government agencies that was suppose to safe guard the Labor's rights are headed by Chinese and Chinese sympathizers, the DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) and the NLRC (National Labor Relation Commission), and sad to say, our Supreme Court, all occupied by Chinese and pro Chinese has marginalized Filipino labor. No wonder other countries call us a "Nation of Slaves" because the Chinese who rules our government connived to enslave the Filipinos. What do you think?

CATT: you're correct about one thing. If your conclusion is based on how many Chinese people you saw walking around on the street, then you and SEAN haven't the experience and knowledge to make an informed statement regarding the question.
The questioner is correct. The country has been at the stranglehold of the many Chinese families and their businesses (and their cronies in government) ever since they came on shore from mainland China. While that is just the natural result of capitalism and free trade, the propaganda that the government places the native Filipinos first ahead of the Chinese forces in the country are so far from the truth.
The Filipino people are in effect slaves to the Chinese Oligarchies that run most of the big businesses in-country. These guys have hooks into every crevice of the Philippine government. In the past, the leaders of the Philippines were paid off by these empires. Now, the President is an actual pure bred Chinese man--gay or not. Heck his mom, the former "President" was an even purer bred ***** than him. The cycle is complete. You have been subjugated.
Congratulations.

It is still a REPUBLIC, even if some of your sentiment are quite true, the Philippines is still a republic to recognize with. The reason for your concern is quite simple, if you look back through Philippines history, it is the Filipinos who gave the Chinese the idea to be self supporting. I am raise and born in the Philippines, as a boy, I literally play around Divisoria area where my mother use to work as a tindera and I already notice the proliferation of different Chinese store in Divisoria and Binondo area in Manila. Tabora which is just a stone throw away from Divisoria was the main hub of the Chinese wholesale area mostly of textile market. The Chinese traders are as solid as the rock you step on when you walk on a rubble. Meaning when one Chinese trader is bankrupt or broke, the whole Chinese community will help to bring that trader back to his old feet again, while if a Filipino trader goes broke, just take the look of other Filipinos and saying "buti nga saiyo" or "magdusa ka".The crab mentality of the Filipinos are the main reason that the Philippines never progress since time immemorial.
You blame the Chinese in the Philippines because of this? Are Filipinos hard working? Well you tell me. The Filipinos easily gave up where the Chinese push through. That is why what you said 98% rule by the Chinese our daily living. We are slave because we think that way. If we had run the Philippines in the beginning the right way, I personally do not think the Chinese can penetrate our ranks.

Spaniards added some African slaves to Mexico. however the blacks shaped a rather small proportion of the inhabitants and characteristic been greater often than not absorbed into the final inhabitants. additionally they added some Asian (Filipino, chinese language, etc.) slaves to Mexico. yet they did not deliver very many slaves to Mexico, in comparison with another places, because of the fact Mexico had a rather super indigenous inhabitants that they could use as a exertions tension. interior the Philippines it could have been very uneconomical to deliver slaves from Africa- in simple terms look at a map. The Philippines is a lot added from Africa than the Americas are. they could've had to transport the Africans each and every of ways around the Indian and Pacific oceans or around South united statesa. and around the Pacific from Africa. they could have had community slaves, slaves from different areas of Asia interior the Philippines, or some style of coerced exertions device interior the Philippines, i'm not sure.

It is a country of slaves because it is a country of people who accept being slaves. Like any social animals (ants, for example), humanity tends to slavery. In one age, the stronger enslaved the weaker. In our age, the more intelligent enslave the less intelligent.
But it's not only about being poor, personality comes into play. There are many and many dozen thousand Chinese who can barely eat and sleep on the ground in China, however none of these people would EVER accept to work in Saudi ARabia or other Arab countries where Filipinos (and every worker coming from abroad) are treated in a wildly illegal way, submitted to work rates up to 18 hours a day, and kept under any kind of fear.
On the other hand, the Filipino gladly accept, with a smile, and are thankful to their owners.
This means that their situation will never change, and they'll be the first option for whomever wants somebody to clean their toilets, soles of the shoes, and bully them at the same time, receiving smiles, "thank you"s and gratitude in return.
I hate it, but if you try to explain one of these slaves reality, they'll go mad at you very quickly, and, like best slaves in history have always done, they'd give their all for their owners who keep their shoes steadily pressed on their heads.

Its been called nation of servants because filipinos go to other countries to work majority as service related positions, if u go to US the people view filipinos as maids. Slave is different from servant, a slave is forever while servant is not, filipinos have the freedom to choose what they want in life but sadly filipinos created corruption too much to handle

the Philippines is a democracy, which means the people have soviergn rights and the government is the servant of the people. this differs from communism, dictators, etc, where the government is all powerful, and people serve the government. the people in these countries: vietnam, china, etc.. could be considered slaves, since they are controled by a government they do not control by voting.
if filipinos choose to elect chinese, incompetants, or corrupt thieves.. this does not make them slaves.. just foolish..

I agree with the previous person.
I've been here for 8 weeks and I don't think the Filipino people are slaves. While some of the stuff you say is probably true, I think that something has to be said for the people here. There are definitely issues with the Filipino Government and those problems will need to be solved for the country to rise. Corruption is widespread and money that is allocated for improvement projects too often ends up in an officials pocket.
For the most part though, the Filipino people are proud and free. They do what they want, whether that's fishing on the beach, running a stall or relaxing. Forget what the Chinese and other countries say. A lot of the time, people say stuff just to feel superior, when they're nothing of the sort.

Around are many indigent Filipinos. Mothers who married too young to raise a family. Considering high standard of living today the children are hardly fed. Mothers, because of lack of education, coupled with scarcity of employment, are forced to work if husband is unable to find job or invalid. Many visit our house to borrow money or any daily necessities. Clothes included. Evidence that Filipinos around do not know how to live such as make value of labor. budgeting, fond of dole outs especially this Christmas season. I think civil code on family be the platform of candidates in election especially in local units where they can instill family helping one another. Its really sad. I do not expose this fact for whatever personal reason but I hope it would taken as basis for governance, the reconstruction of institution and moral values.

It's not too late, you can recuperate your country if you want, with strong determination you will win.But as long as a filipino thinks" me nothing but me" you will remain the slave of your contemporary. It is true as well that filipinos has the mentality of slaves.Africans fights for their rights to abolish that cursed being upon them having the reputation of slaves but filipinos are contented the way they are, africans has remorse being branded slave but filipinos are proud and contented. Africans are trying hard to chase the chinese who recently settled in their country fighting, insulting, mugging, killing them in secret, but the filipinos are proud to accommodates the chinese give them shelter, let them run their country, etc, etc.So as long as you are divided you will remain the slave of the whole world
