Not too bad.
That being said, I think it's a waste of your potential to limit yourself to using a "role-playing game construction kit" like RPG Maker. If you truly were passionate about making your own unique 2D RPG, you would learn a programming language like C or C++ and use DirectX, SDL, Allegro, or OpenGL graphics libraries. Have you heard of Cave Story? If not, you need to download that brilliant free little game and try it out. The entire game was developed by one guy who isn't even a programmer by profession.
