Should people be banned from using firewood daily?

We already have advanced means of heating living spaces, working spaces...etc.. Yet millons of people on Earth are using firewood on a daily basis .. Clearly firewood smoke is a bad thing to inhale and to do so on a daily basis is obviously irresponsible not only to himself but to his negihbors who needlessly tolerate his daily use of firewood. Have people forgotten how to breath and more importantly enjoy the puritiy of normal ambient air that EPA and other organizations work so hard to achieve.. Why must we blow it away by stinking the air up with firewood smoke.. Often, it smells so awful and suspecting .. Where is the polltuion control devices for chimneys and stove pipes at all. Yes there is EPA certified fireplaces but they are not really that clean... Cant EPA do much more to control so much firewood smoke wafting all over? There is websites that shows where there is worst air pollutin that is caused by firewood smoke. I cannot list them , I guess. You can at least google about firewood smoke..

Then get the freaking government to lower fuel or electricity rates. Like THAT is going to happen. People have to stay warm and may not be able to afford these high rates for utilities, natural gas or electricity, so the next best thing and something that has been used for centuries, firewood. A natural resource. You cannot blame this person for staying warm, now can you? Really? Would you feel better if he froze to death? Certainly not, so right now, he is doing the best he can to stay warm just like you. Get over it. buy some freshener for your house or something.

not that "stooopid" huh? ok Do Key. i'm getting it. you're the only sensible one. meaning you've no concern information this. human beings everywhere have been burning timber and different biomass for hundreds of years, even millenia, because of the fact the beginning up of chilly climate. There has in no way been a pollutants concern from that. Now, interior the final 2 hundred years or so, petroleum potential use has come into the mainstream. and because then, we've a severe environmental concern with pollutants. that would not take a genius to come to a decision. gas, greater often than not kerosene based, is putting very extreme quantities of particulates and gasses into the ambience at an alarming fee. gas for our autos and lawnmowers is nice in the back of that. hearth timber? No. I say flow back to it. we could in simple terms give up employing petroleum.

Not everyone has access or can pay for electric or gas heating.

There are also clean burning logs for fireplaces but wood stoves are used for heat and for cooking.

Sorry that you can't seem to see that not everyone has access or can pay for what you can do. You need to get out in the world, see how people really live....especially in poor countries and even rural areas of the US and Europe.

Many people in rural areas have access to free wood. Woodlots (properly managed) produce a valuable source of energy, allowing people to be more self-sufficient and self-reliant. They don't use fireplaces for this because fireplaces are too inefficient. Modern wood stoves are very efficient and burn pretty clean.

Would you prefer that rural people pay lots of money for electricity produced by coal?

You're absolutely right. It;s a waste of trees. Let's go back to burning Jews, like they did in the old days! They were an excellent heat source, and we weren't losing any natural resources or caausing any damge doing so.

Please, please, tell me that this is a joke.

    Otherwise, I don't even...

You are aware how idiotic your arguement is?

You know what? Why don't you fine Nature for forest fires while you're at it.

    :UPDATE:

    Purple and Brian,

That was hilarious. I was out of my chair laughing by the end of Brian's post.
