Is it possible to watch live TV programs like local news or Dancing with the Stars if I have a Roku connection?

I am thinking about getting a roku box but not sure how it works. I currently have comcast and wondering if I use that box will I be able to watch local news or live programming with this type of connection? Please let me know. Thanks.

No, Roku does not receive normal TV signals. It can only stream videos from a limited number of sites like Netflix or Hulu Plus. Hulu Plus does have TV shows but sometimes it takes them awhile before they get episodes from current shows, and you have to have a subscription with Hulu Plus or Netflix.

    Live programming? No.

Roku is primarily a way for you to access content off the Internet without a computer. There are a few stations which stream their local news content, but not a lot. And you won't find live network programming, unless you find a private channel streaming such content.
