Should we rinse raw chicken before cooking it?

I have heard experts claim that we shouldny't because it actually increases the risks but many recipes especially for roast or baked chicken suggest that we should

I think you should rinse in cold water to brine it. I always did because Grandma said. But I just looked it up and it makes it more succulent

It doesn't really matter. IF a chicken is cooked thoroughly and properly a the correct high temperature then all bacteria should be destroyed. In America, washing the poultry seems to be the norm. In Europe, washing poultry is fairly uncommon. It all your choice. Just cook it thoroughly until the juices run clear and you'll be fine.

It doesn't really matter about adding bacteria because most bacteria will be killed by the cooking process. But the bacteria from the chicken will go all over your sink so be sure to bleach the sink after you rinse your chicken.

Rinse it, wash it out with your hands under running water. If you want to be really pro, soak it in salt water for a couple hours before cooking. That helps the flavor and improves purity.

I do because I have it in the sink to cut the fat off anyway. Sometimes the butchers leave feather tips or stuff inside that has to be washed out also. Just make sure you wash everything well after you get done...

Depends on the condition of the chicken; if it's messy looking I'll rinse it off, if it looks ok I won't.
