How are people finding my twitter profile?
People who I know keep following me on twitter and i don't know why because I've done it so that they can't find me via email (i've unticked the box) and people from school and things keep following me, but I don't want them following me at all.
They also shouldn't be able to find my name or anything as it's something hard to guess, so how do you think they're finding me?

If you know someone is on Twitter but don’t know where to find them on Twitter you’ll need to use Google as Twitter’s search seems to give quite a bit of privacy to their users whereas Google is the search monster that will prove fruitful most of the time. First, start on Twitter itself. At the top right of your Twitter homepage you will see a "Find People" link that takes you to a search box that lets you not only search for people, but also by location or any other term that might be in their Twitter profile. If you are looking for other Twitter members in Ohio, search for Ohio, and Twitter will give you a listing of all the members that have their location identified as being 'Ohio'. Or you can search for anyone with 'search marketing' in their profile, or 'social media', or any other term you can think of.

these people probably found you because you have the same interest and you show on their stream the moment they click the "who to follow" menu, or you are very interesting indeed. I found here a good source why people keep on following people on Twitter even if they didn't know each other.
