Looking for an amusing Christmas present prank for my nephew?
A little background.
My nephew is a smart 8 year old who thinks fart jokes rule, but otherwise has a great sense of humor. He loves to be tricked if the trick is clever.
Two years ago, my present to him was a Christmas Easter egg hunt. He got a hint to another egg, which led him to a third egg, and so on until he finally found the present. He loved it.
Last year, I hid a DVD for him inside the lining of the box, so he opened an "empty" box and was disappointed until we told him it must be in there somewhere. He loved that one too, and his grandma tells me he still talks/laughs about it. So I have to top it this year, or lose my rep as his smartass uncle.
Any suggestions?
Oh yes, forgot to mention I'd stacked about 6 boxes inside each other. Every time he saw another box he laughed... fully expecting the smallest box to hold the present. Was priceless, seeing his reaction when it was empty. :)

You can put his gift in a decoy box – those that have some weird products on them like a USB-powered toaster or something. And they look totally real

Bowl of in-shell nuts and a nutcracker (the metal kind, not decorative) - real gift hidden under the nuts.
"You stink" basket- mouthwash, deodorant, breath mints, deodorant soap, air freshener, odor eater insoles
Give him a girl present with the real present somewhere else or under it
Do the 'box inside a box' thing. Use 5-6 boxes but the present (gift card) is taped to the underside of the first (largest) box, so that last (smallest) box is empty, where they are expecting the gift to be.

I did this to my Best friend last year.
I got a rly rly rly big box. And inside of that i hide a smaller box. And then a smaller box. And the another smaller box. And there was like 10 boxes in all and then when she got to the last box, she still didnt see the present. So then i told her to go check the porch and I got my mom to ring the door bell and when she went to open the door the present was sitting in a box on the stairs.

A trick lottorey ticket that wins alot. pretty sure you can buy them at any mall near your location. Or, tell him his present his hidden somewhere in the house, but you actually have it make him spend about 20-30 minutes searching then say, oh i forgot! i have, duh... then give it to him.... or have riddles on a piece of paper. Sumthing like that, i personally would do the lottery ticket thing
