Would America be different today is JFK finished his 1st term, then got re-elected?

Would it even exist? Would his success spark a chain of democratic presidents?

Thoughts?

JFK was a good man. I am a conservative. LBJ belched loudly whenever he felt like it and he rescinded JFK's silver certificate order immediately upon JFK's death. What an @sshole.

I think things would have gone differently. Not enough to radically change the country. I think the Vietnam War would have gone differently. I really believe that Kennedy was starting to question what we were doing there. I do not think the war would have escalated as much as it did under LBJ and Nixon. However, he might have had more trouble with the Voting Rights bill that LBJ passed. LBJ had a history of getting legislation through Congress and probably had more traction as a Southerner pushing that legislation through.

But addressing the original question, yes I think America would still exist, pretty much as it does now. I don't think he would have started a whole string of Democratic presidents. Things tend to be cyclical. Kennedy followed eight years of Republican rule.

i don't think of he could have prolonged the welfare state as much as Lyndon B. Johnson did. this could advise, in case you're taking as certainty that the large Society and the conflict on Poverty made worse existence in city factors and created an more advantageous dependency on government, that we could (I suggested could) have much less poverty and much less city slums than we do now. that's, of direction, completely hypothetical. additionally, we could in no way have invaded Vietnam to the quantity we did, which will have prevented people who got here of age interior the '60s and '70s from being pushed to the left the way they have been. My guess is that JFK could have served in the process the 60s as a somewhat solid President, yet a Republican could have come to power after he grow to be out of workplace. somewhat, maybe each and all the Presidential wins from JFK's time onward could have been reversed (i.e a Republican elected in 'seventy six, a Democrat in 'eighty, a Republican in '88, and onward). Who is conscious what could have somewhat befell, however. replace: of direction, a Republican grow to be elected in '88 besides. I experience sorry with regard to the errors.

Yes it would and it would be different if Al Gore or John Kerry got elected thats for sure. Actually Dukakis should of been elected in 1988 because George HW Bush started this mess we are currently in. And I am a republican saying this. I am just really anti Bush!!!
