Ok. The YELLOW, RED & WHITE CORD is called an RCA cable. You plug that into the OUT / OUTPUT section in the back of the DVD player and into any of the RCA inputs on the TV. The colors should match up. If they don't and where you are trying to plug it in is blue green and red, thats for HD plugs. Make sure Yellow goes in Video OUT on the DVD player, and the white and red in AUDIO Left and right OUT on the DVD player. The brand doesn't matter at all.
You can plug it into any of the RCA inputs on the TV.
After you do this, you need to get your TV remote, find the INPUT button, and scroll through until you get to the to the VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, VIDEO 3, etc that you plugged it into! IF this doesn't work, find your nearest man and ask for help!

Pull out the manuals & start over. Red is right channel sound. Yellow is video. You can't just start plugging in cables willy nilly. Read the manuals!
