Metal Fans: Modern old school death/thrash band?

Tribulation

I picked up the album The Horror recently and its definitely an interesting album with quite a few influences. The guitar tone is similar to that of old school death metal bands like Entombed/Dismember/etc....but the riffs are thrashy in style, but almost has some blackened aspects to it, similar to Necrophobic. Overall, these combinations seem to work in my opinion to create quite an enjoyable listen. Nothing overly new, but i feel its executed well..here are a few samples

MQ: Thoughts on the songs/band?

MQ2: Whats been your go-to band this week?

Update:

***the Brain: I really like what i hear from that song...thanks!

Update 2:

***Hey Brian: for sure this is a throwback band to old school death metal of the early 90s...not quite as brutal as alot of death metal these days....the only thing modern about them is the release date (2010).

Hope you have a good weekend!

Wow great find bro, feel like they're on to something here!!

Yeah, the Swedeath and German Thrash influence makes itself apparent right off the bat, kinda reminds me of Kreator fused with the trademark Entombed/ Dismember buzzsaw sound tone (haha you know where that's coming form =P).

Necks dislocate, faces melt, Mozart head bangs in his grave ---> gotta be one of the catchiest, niftiest Thrash/ Death albums I've heard in a while!!!

Thrash itself has kinda stagnated since the 80's but with the wake of bands like Evile, Gama Bomb, Warpath and Suicidal Angels, Thrash is reemerging as a relevant genre, being very much alive.

Despite the heavy nod to Early thrash, Old school Florida Death Metal and the Stockholm scene of the early 90's the album doesn't feel dated at all. I find that the vocals have this genuine feel about them which makes the whole thing quiet enjoyable to listen to.

The thrash aspect definitely contributes to the intense sense of infectious groove and catchiness while maintaining the heavy crust of SW as it's spine.

Also don't know if you heard the intro, but the album start off very teasingly, most likely to elicit a a 'CRAP' reaction from the br00tal listener before bombarding him with a crushing montage of blazing riffs haha

A 70's horror movie inspired Piano piece over some creepy synthesizers ~

*** alright I gotta go now but WAIT UNTIL I EDIT right?

MQ2: eh I added about 50 Death/ Black bands to my collection, I've been into the whole Dissection/ Sacramentum/ Thulcandra thingy lately ... Have anything for me? =D

    EDIT

I'm back! Yeah they have yet to put anything new to the table, true... BUT it makes me think about bands which lurk around but don't release their first full album until 10 years later... Seems like these bands have the passion and creative prowess which makes up for unoriginality.

But hey while they don't go midway to some fikkin crazy Sigh Prog stuff or such, but the purpose is accomplished quiet nicely I think. The main question is where will the band go with their sound later on? I would like to see something different than a 90's Death rooted album, veering into a more original, individualized sound. Don't want them going Slayer route huh? ^^

Enthusiasm, Bubbling Thrash and mind blowing Death ---> check ✔

Pretty good for a debut I think *shrugs*

    Hey tron.

I remember listening to this band about a year back. Another band to add to the growing list of retro death metal bands like Obliteration, Repugnant, Decrepitaph etc. There isn't much for me to say other than what already hasn't been said above. Good, solid, chunky riffs, a fun horror-ish atmosphere at times and lots and lots of catchy melodies.

    Cool stuff

MA2: I was mainly just listening to the first 2 Draconian albums over and over.

    Hi Owen!

they sound to me like old Carcass, like around Symphonies of Sickness area, about up to Heartwork just less melodic and a little bit more extreme, a tad bit harder. in my opinion, the vocalist here sounds very similar to Jeff Walker. So yeah Owen I think Death Metal would be appropriate and of course Thrash is inclusive with that and there it is.

These guys just sound like early erea Death Metal so they sound a little out of date and far less extreme to more modern Death Metal, but then again many people call Gojira Death Metal, and though they do have those elements I don't really consider them Death Metal Really, perhaps just Progressive Metal.

I do like these songs though, thanks for sharing. I gotta run, busy busy busy but thanks buddy, I wil listen to more of these guys later on leisure time. Cheers Owen! :D
