im so scared of volleyballs?
In gym right now, we are doing volleyball, and I am TERRIFIED of the ball. Everyone (guys mainly) is like "It's soft. It wont hurt." But they don't understand, and the guys act like I'm stupid or something. They don't really like me because of it. I need advice on how to NOT be afraid of the ball, because I just checked Progress Book, and I figured out that the gym teacher has been taking off points everyday because I "don't play". (I DO play, I just duck everytime the ball comes toward me.) I currently have a 69% in P.E. Please help me! I am so bad, that when it comes toward me and I tell myself I can do it, and I get ready, the "cool" guys always end up hitting it when I wanted to. :( No bad comments, please. I AM afraid of the ball, but I'm not afraid to admit it!!!!!

It is normal if this is your first time playing to be scared of the ball! Trust me, I have been playing for a while now and the ball has never hurt that bad while playing. Use your hands instead of ducking to set the ball or in some way hit it! It seems scary at first but as you get used to passing the ball it will not hurt and it will not be scary anymore. So just try actually trying to hit or pass or touch the ball. It will not hurt when it hits off your arms or hands! Just start by maybe playing with the ball by your self before you start your gym and maybe discuss this problem also with your teacher! Just tell your self that you want to hit that ball and you are not afraid of it. Be confident with your self!
I hope I helped!
Also thanks for your answer on my question. I hope I helped you as you wanted in your answer to my question!

You just have to realize that the ball won't hurt you. Try to hit it. If the other people don't let you hit it, then talk to the gym teacher. The ball will almost never hit you in the face or stomach. So don't worry about it and just know that it WON'T hurt you.
