>What you need is some citric acid and some chelating agent like EDTA. You can get the citric acid from any canning store (for canning fruits). The EDTA (sodium or potassium salt of) you can get at some hardware stores that sell paints and chemicals. You heat up some water in a 8 quart or 12 quart pan and add a little EDTA and bring it to a boil and cool it.
Then, with a clean rag, wipe down the SS surface and let sit for a few minutes and wipe clear with some warm water on a clean towel and you will see a huge difference. The SS will shine like new. Make sure the surface is clean to begin with of course.

Cleaning stainless steel is really easy all you need is caustic soda you can buy it in any major supermarket under different brand names such as Drano just dilute the required amount into water and apply it is sometimes easier to wring a cloth in the solution and apply it to the area leave it there for ten minutes then wipe away remember it is a caustic product so it is wise to wear rubber/vinyl gloves when you are working with it when cleaning my stainless steel sink i fill it up with water to nearly full then add caustic soda after ten minutes it looks like new again . Not a good idea to do this if you have brass or copper fittings to your plumbing though

Buy a foamy stainless steel cleaner sold in grocery stores . Spray it on , wait a few minutes and wipe off the dirt/ gunk. Easy = ) edit; Never use bleach of any type on stainless steel. It will discolor and pit the steel. Read labels when buying cleaners .Use ammonia based products to clean stainless steel. Remember to towel dry after washing or wetting stainless steel . If not completely dry, you will have water spots that is hard to remove .

Wash off with warm soapy water. To make it shine use small amount of baby oil on a soft cloth.
