Look on the back of the ticket for the exact odds of that particular game.
They vary from winning about 1 out of three to about 1 out of 5.
Long story short, it really makes no difference. The more important question is, if you bought 10 three-dollar tickets, ($30 worth), how much MONEY would you expect to win? That I can answer.
On average, for every $30 you spend on these tickets, you should expect to only "win" back about $15. Sometimes you'll win more, and sometimes you'll win less, but over time, you should expect a payback rate of about 50% of your money back.
At a 50% payback rate, this easily makes buying these the WORST bet on the planet! No other standard form of betting even comes close to being this bad.
The lottery is a tax on the poor and on the ignorant.

Yes. I do not spend a lot of money at all. I play twice a week. I play a couple of scratch-offs. Sometimes, I spend up to $10 a week. And, when I win a dollar here or there, that just makes me want to buy some more because then I think that I can win more. But, I never spend more than $10. You'd be surprised on how many people spend $50 or so on tickets. I usually stand behind them! LOL
