Vietnam visa on arrival for Vietnam?
Hi all
I know there are a few posts on Visas in Vietnam already, but I can't seem to find an answer to my question!
I am looking to get my visa for Vietnam and assume I can just send my passport off to the consulate in Australia to get orhansied. I have looked online and am not sure whether I apply throught the Consulate General of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam (http://vietnamconsulate.org.au/index.php) or the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia (http://www.vietnamembassy.org.au/Contact.htm). What is the difference?
Is this the best way to get a visa for Vietnam? I have noticed many forums talking about external visa application companies and discussions about Visas on arrival. I'm a bit confused! Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks :)

Hi,
You should apply visa on arrival.
Vietnam Immigration Department will issue a visa approval letter for you in 1 or 2 working days. Then travel agent will send a copy of the Visa Approval letter to your email.
You just have to print it out and bring it with you to Vietnam airport, attach photos (4x6)cm and pay the visa stamping fee to directly the Immigration officer.
Good luck! :)

Well, i have applied for Vietnam visa to enter the country. My way is not applying at Vietnam embassy or Vietnam consulate. Instead going to there, i apply online for Vietnam visa on arrival through a authorize visa agent. It is very cheap, fast and convenient. And i think this is the best way to get Vietnam visa. You can visit this website http://www.vietnamvisa-online.com/ and ask for their assistance to have Vietnam visa as i have done. Good luck

This is an alternative way to get your visa for Vietnam. You just need to fill in our "Online Application Form", pay the service fee, get your "Visa approval letter" within 2 working days and pick up your visa at your destination airport (Hanoi airport, Ho Chi Minh city airport) -
After we obtain the approval letter for you, we will forward you a copy by email. Copies of the same document will be forwarded on your behalf to Vietnam Immigration checkpoints at International Airports only. When you arrive in Vietnam, the Immigration officers will have those documents ready and will be able to issue your entry visa quickly. (See our guide to visa procedure at Vietnam airports)

A better option than getting a visa from the consulate, is to get a Visa On Arrival. Go to one of the websites, (I've used Fun Vietnam Visa - http://www.funvietnamvisa.com/), pay them $19, print off the authourisation letter. Then when you arrive, pay the "stamping fee" of $25, and your in. Vietnam visa fee read more: http://www.vietnamvisago.com/vietnam-visa-cost.htm...
Much cheaper than $70 (?) and posting your passport around the country.

Under Vietnam immigration new law and regulations, parallel with Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam Immigration Department is authorized to issue Vietnam visa. It is called Vietnam visa on arrival, Vietnam visa online or Vietnam evisa.
Vietnam evisas allow visa applicants applying Vietnam visas through the internet by an online application form. If their visa applications have approved then they will receive an approval letter from the Immigration officers. The approval letter permits applicants fly to Vietnam without visa in advance as usual. They will receive their visas at a Vietnam International Airport.
Vietnam evisas contain tourist evisa and business evisa.
