  • Vietnam train reservation on line?

    Hi,

I know you can go to the train station of your departure and buy ahead of time a ticket, but is it possible to buy on line a train ticket DIRECT FROM THE TRAIN COMPANY departing from another city: example, I am in Nha Trang and I want to make a reservation from Saigon to Nha Trang for my son visiting me and I don't want to deal with a travel agency who will charge me a commission ($35 instead of $25) PLUS having to pay ($5) for someone to bring the ticket at the station... and having to worry if it will get there on time...

In other words... Like you do with any flight ticket !

I'm asking here because asking to a Vietnamese (I did) they tell you anything.

    Thanks so much for helping.

  • Vietnam visas from OZ to Vietnam/Cambodia?

Hi-I am headed to Vietnam end of June for about 16 days. Fly in Hanoi/out Ho Chi Min City. Thinking about a few days in Hanoi, a few days in Sapa area, a few days Halong Bay, then 4 days Siem Reap/Angkor, finish with a few days in HCMC. Not sure from my reading the best way to arrange visas from OZ for Vietnam and Cambodia. Not sure if I have to get a multiple entry visa for Vietnam to go in and out of Cambodia for 4 days? Is it best to arrange Cambodia visa from OZ, Vietnam, or can you do it at the Siem Reap airport upon arrival. Any advice please with travel agent as http://www.vietnamvisago.com/

  • Multiple Vietnam Entry Visa Question?

I currently have a single entry 1 month visa for Vietnam. I plan on going to Cambodia by bus, and then flying back into HCMC Airport from Cambodia and then continuing on to my flight back to the US.

Do http://www.funvietnamvisa.com/ I need to get a multiple entry visa if I don't plan on exiting the airport on my way back from Cambodia? I will have checked luggage, so would it be allowed to pick those up and then go back and check in for my flight back to the US?

  • Vietnam Visas for transiting through Hanoi?

Hi. I'm flying from Singapore to Hanoi on Tiger Air, then taking another flight 3 hours later on Laos Air into Laos. The flights were booked separately. It's unclear whether I'll be checking baggage, but regardless, do I need a Vietnamese visa to do this? Travel agent http://www.luckyvietnamvisa.com/ is okie? If I do check baggage, will this affect it (i.e. I'll have to leave the international terminal to "enter" Vietnam to fetch my baggage)?

    Thanks al

  • When Will The New LP Guide Book Be On The Street's Of Hanoi?

The new LP guide to Vietnam is due for publication on 1st Feb (or so say Amazon) and I was wondering when it was likely that it would be available on the streets of Hanoi. as http://www.hanoitravelfun.com/cheap-and-luxury-hot...

I leave UK on 28th Jan so can't buy here - will I be able to buy there in early Feb (2nd to 4th) or should I take my old one with me?

Also, what is the going rate for guide books?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Getting a visa for Vietnam during new year?

I have a flight booked to Vietnam on the 29th of January but do not yet have a Visa for entry into the country. I tried to buy one online but it said that it was closed due to Chinese new year. I also travelled to the embassy which was also closed. Is there any way of acquiring a visa before this time? If not, what are the implications of turning up in Vietnam without a valid visa? Can you buy one on arrival during this time?

  • Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong delta?

    Hi!

My boyfriend and I Will be travelling to Vietnam in March for there weeks. The last week we Will be spend in The South of Vietnam and I Will be grateful for some advice. We are thinking of going to Phu Quoc Island (i see http://www.vietnambeachshow.com/phu-quoc-island-a-... ), Mekong delta and Ho Chi Minh City. We have 7 days.

We could travel by land through Mekong delta, take The boat to Phu Quoc Island and fly back to Ho Chi Minh City. Or we could maybe fly both ways Ho Chi Minh - Phu Qouc Ho Chi Minh, and then maybe just take a one Day trip from HCMC to The Mekong Delta. Or we could skip The Mekong delta and just do HCMC and Phu Qouc Island. What Would you recommend? If you had 7 days in The South of Vietnam how Would you spend Them?

  • Advice on selling 2 specialized bikes in Nha Trang or HCMC?

    Hi

A friend and I have just completed a cycle from Hue to Nha Trang ( http://www.nhatrangbeachshow.com/ ) and are looking to sell our bikes with very little idea of how to go about it. I thought trying this forum may be benificial as I did see some good advice being given to someone doing the same in Hoi An. Both bikes are brought in the UK relatively new with 21 gears etc.

Any advice you can pass on will be gratefully received

    Thanks

  • First overseas holiday - Vietnam?

    Hi guys,

Have been doing a lot of reading on this site and the various threads about travelling around Vietnam. My partner and I are mid 20's and have already booked our flights in June/July and will be spending approx. 18 nights in Vietnam flying into and out of HCMC. I'd really appreciate your feedback or tips on what to see and do. Our basic plan was Saigon for a few nights, fly up to Hanoi to spend a few nights, do a junk boat tour of Halong Bay, was thinking up to 7 nights in Nha Trang (we are after about a week of chilling out, beach style) and want to do an overnight/2 night mekong delta tour. Nothing is set in stone - only our flights which leave end of June and back beginning of July.

Any feedback about time frams in each place? Is there another beachy type place to relax other than Nha Trang? Any MUST SEE recommendations?

All feedback is greatly appreciated, we are wanting a bit of culture and aren't wanting to be too run off our feet - being our first overseas holiday and having been together over 6 years this has been a long time coming!!

    Cheers.

  • mekong delta tours prices?

    Hi there,

i'll be travelling south of Vietnam at the end of april and i was very interested in doing one of those mekong delta tours, probably a 2d/1n or 3d/2n ,didn't decide yet though.

The fact is that i'll be travelling by myself and i'm a little confused about the prices ,looking backto the other posts it seems prices go from 20usd to 300 or more.I can afford to spend 150usd but no more so....

Can anyone give me a clearer idea of that please.

    Thank you!

  • Travel to Sapa in February?

    Hello,

I would love to hear from anyone who has visited Sapa in February.

I've just been doing some research and have read that it will be freezing, foggy and wet so would like to know if it's still worth visiting in that month?

    Thanks :)
