How to Extend Visa In Danang or Hoi An?
My wife and I are lovin VN and need our visas extended. Our 30 day single entry Vietnam tourist visas expire May 18 (USA passport). I was told government offices are closed on May 1st. Does anyone have a recommend broker or are we best of going directly to the Government office in Danang on May 2nd?
What are the government fees for the extension and/or the services of an agent handling this for us?
By the way, what do hotels say about checking in without a passport????
Thanks

he best thing to do is go to a travel agent as http://www.luckyvietnamvisa.com/ or http://www.yesvietnamvisa.com/ and ask them to do it, you will also need copies of your passport and get the travel agent to write in Vietnamese that your passport is at immigration getting an extension. Alot of hotels will accept photo copies and alot wont you just need to find one that does accept it. Its a public holiday next Monday and Tuesday, I would wait until Wednesday next week before you put it in, they usually allow you a few days after its expired, but then again its up to who does the visa.

you can usually get a visa extension at any travel office and most hotels can help you out as where to go... but you often have to hang around for 2-5 days.... and personally i cant take hoi an for more than 2 days....its about 24 us dollars last time i had it done... and i dont know any hotel will let you stay w/o some sort of documentation [ they have to make reports daily to the police about who is in there establishment... if your are talking about where can you stay while your pass port is being processed , well thats a different story..1 would check in 1st with proper papers , let them know that you are extending [ as i said they will help you there] a good idea is also have photo copies of ALL your important papers especially passport visa...
everything is usually closed on weekends and holidays
