Vietnam train reservation on line?
Hi,
I know you can go to the train station of your departure and buy ahead of time a ticket, but is it possible to buy on line a train ticket DIRECT FROM THE TRAIN COMPANY departing from another city: example, I am in Nha Trang and I want to make a reservation from Saigon to Nha Trang for my son visiting me and I don't want to deal with a travel agency who will charge me a commission ($35 instead of $25) PLUS having to pay ($5) for someone to bring the ticket at the station... and having to worry if it will get there on time...
In other words... Like you do with any flight ticket !
I'm asking here because asking to a Vietnamese (I did) they tell you anything.

The site is in Vietnamese (sorry, cannot find anything similar in English). They offer online booking but seems....complicated to me.
But they do offer you, and book the ticket, the train station will have someone deliver the ticket to your door (as long as your son doesn't live too far away, more than 7km from the station). Your son pays them when he has the ticket, no extra cost other than the ticket price. If further than 7km, you probably have to pay them like 1$ more, thats it!
Here are some other train ticket agencies in the city, maybe your son lives near one of them and he can buy the ticket himself. Make sure he will order ticket to NHA TRANG, bed with A/C (~25$). Cheapest ticket cost like 10$ (normal seat, no A/C).
