Getting a visa for Vietnam during new year?
I have a flight booked to Vietnam on the 29th of January but do not yet have a Visa for entry into the country. I tried to buy one online but it said that it was closed due to Chinese new year. I also travelled to the embassy which was also closed. Is there any way of acquiring a visa before this time? If not, what are the implications of turning up in Vietnam without a valid visa? Can you buy one on arrival during this time?

Our office will be closed from Friday, January 20th to Sunday, January 29th for celebrating Vietnamese New Year. You can still apply online if you plan to travel ON or After January 30th. Thank you understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.
