94 chevy s10 electrical problem?

my lights in the car have started flickering and dimming and the gauge has been going towards the 19 instead around the middle and the battery and alternator are both less than a year old. i ran an alternator check and the alternator is good.

Update:

i have checked the alternator multiple times and ruled out an alternator problem

Check out some of theses options. Number one without proper grounding your componets will not work properly. Check all the grounds to the engine and body and make sure they are tight and not corroded. This includes EVERY surface of your battery terminals and posts. The next thing to check is that your alternator is not charging too much. You say you have check it but just to verify, make sure it doesn't overcharge either it's just as damaging as undercharging. Next and u will have to do some homework with this but is your engine a vortec if so the dealer may offer a wiring pigtail for the computer to help better ground the computer so that it can properly control meter and effect your cars operating systems. Your truck may be too old for this option though.

It's a good idea to check the terminals at the battery ends and the ground/ stator end. Good luck

have you tried starting your engine and removing the positive side of your battery, if engine dies alternator is bad, or your relay is bad. you could have a short in your battery. internal
