I would suck it up and not complain. My family is really tight on money this year, we I will be getting some stuff, just not a lot. I honestly do feel a little guilty asking for anything, so if my parents decided that we couldn't get anything I think I would be okay with that.

I don't think I will ever be in that situation, but if I was... I would accept it pretty easily and move on. I had a hard time thinking of things I actually wanted this year - this things I came up with are basically things I would still get any time of the year simply because I needed them: New notebooks for school, nice pens, food.

After all... doesn't everyone go on about how Christmas isn't about the presents but about spending time with your family?

I'd definitely find it understandable and wouldn't mind. Sometimes times are tough, and we can't always get what we want. Anyways, Christmas isn't about the presents; it's about spending time with those we love (Cliche, I know, but true.)

My family has had its financial ups and downs. When we were going through "downs", I didn't mind when my parents told me we had to be tight with money. What I hated was that they kept me up at nights worried that we might end up on the streets with their interpretation on how "poor" we were.... >.>

Honestly, this is pretty much whats happening this year.

I dont care, Christmas isnt about who got what. The only thing i care about this year is seeing my grandma possibly for her last Christmas. Gifts are irrelevant. Besides, id rather go with nothing, to see my autistic brother continue to believe in all the magic of Christmas.

To add on top of that, i truly dont want nor need anything.

I'd probably be like... "You were planning to celebrate Christmas this year!?!"

Because my family doesn't really do anything for Christmas and I don't normally get presents, so it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I'd be fine with it. Because Christmas is about giving and spending time with family

I wouldn't care. And why would I cry? That would be ridiculous.

Isn't Christmas all about the spirit?

I would instead be happy of having a roof and food.

This will be the second year that we won't have Christmas, because my grandparents passed away and they are the ones that bought for us. I'm just lucky we have food because my mom always sales her food stamps so she can buy herself ciggaretts and pills.

I went through this almost every Christmas

It was more important for us to have a roof over our head....and food.

Sometimes it made me upset, but now, I understand all about being tight on money.
