Did Jesus ask us to love our enemies?

Yes. He asked that we understand and recognize the essential oneness of all beings. He didnt say dont have enemies or opposing forces and issues, he just said to respect them, love them. He added do not attempt to remove the straw from your enemy’s eyes, but notice the the beam from your own. No one is in a position to disqualify his enemy’s way of life. When you do meditation, you begin to see the former enemy as a"Thou" rather than an "it". And that is the job of all govts in a time of war....to turn the other guy into an "it" rather than a "thou" so, as the US is doing in the Muslim world, can bomb them into smithereens without offending the citizens sense of morality or the soldiers conscious. Instead the media calls those doing the business of protecting the profits of big business, heroes

there are a series of requirements which must be met for any candidate;

in a strange way, the requirements are met as a secondary hidden benefit.

the primary obvious benefit appears as a solution to a challenge to be overcome.

in other words, the requirements must be met 'accidentally' and determined by the way the challenge is overcome successfully.

the candidate implicates himself for better or worse by the methods he uses.

the Christ advised anyone who would follow in his steps that there would come a time during their sanctification they would somehow someway be required to love their enemy as themselves..

to the candidate; this is tantamount to loving Satan as ones self.

the candidates are and have always been monitored and the ones who can accomplish this feat will have met the requirement of unconditional love; the love of God.

and they move forward in their candidacy.
