Why will my DVD/CD multirecorder reader and writer only plays some cds?!?

I have a new computer that is crazy amazing. Problem is it will not play some of my CDs (music cds, will not even know they are in there) all DVDs and software CDs seem fine.

Did some research online and did as suggested; have deleted then reinstalled and then deleted, restarted and reinstalled all the optical drive Drivers. This did not help. Then bought a DVD and CD lens cleaner. This also made no difference. This annoyed the crap out of me so have been messing around trying to get the same 5 CDs to be recognized by the drive for so long that i have noticed that it is the same 3 CDs that will not play and the same 2 that play EVERY time????!!!! They are all brand new, unscratched. Have tried some more CDs, the same ones always work and the same ones also always never work.

I have no idea why. Just want to get my music onto iTunes. Help please :))

Update:

Is it not just DVDs the region affects not CDs? Anyway the region settings are correct for the CDs regions.

No the auto-play works for everything except a few CDs. Their are a few certain CDs the auto does not work for but also does not recognize anything is in the drive whatsoever. Just get a' please insert disk into drive E:' when trying to access and the drive ejects.

These are never recognized - 'Mastodon - Crack the skye', 'Mastodon - Blood Mountain' and 'Devil Driver - The fury of our makers hand'

These ALWAYS work (everytime!) - 'Ministery OS - The chilled house session', 'Sepultura - Roots' and 'DJ shadow - The outsider'

    Hi...

Are you just waiting for the Autoplay to take effect / appear ?

Could be a sign the drive is failing? You would get some kind of error message if codecs were missing. By not playing, do you mean just sits there does nothing? Or trys to play and can't? If just sits there doing nothing its possible the drive is failing. Id Cd's that use to play in it now don't.

Most likely causes are that either they are for the wrong region, or that they are recorded in a format that your system does not recognize, (different codec needed.)
