Why do Democrats suddenly care about family values?

Do I sense sarcasm? Personally, if a person running for office has good ideas and is open to compromise, I don't really care how the person acts in his personal life. Obviously, if the person is a pedophile, murderer, or rapist, it should be known. But marital concerns should stay behind closed doors unless the person is abusing the spouse. Cain should of been called out because his case was about sexual harassment. That's a problem that should be known to voters. Otherwise, just keep the campaign about the candidate's platform. Ultimately, we vote for the platform the candidate puts forth not past mistakes.

Someone has to do it. We tried to let the Republicans have the responsibility and they blew it. Sort of like how we let them have control of the government from 2001 to 2006 so they could instill fiscal restraint, respect for the Constitution and compassionate conservatism and they screwed that up as well. They talk the talk but clearly cannot talk and walk at the same time.

The majority of Dems. have always care. That is why everybody in their eyes has the right to belong to a family including gays. We recognize the value of a family environment. But there is no Dem. that is running on family values. The Republicans who try to fool every one are the ones who claim the family values beat.

You guys are the ones walking around with your religion on your sleeves for all the world to see. When you pray you don't go into the largest room full of people to be a known prayers. You pray in private. But the Republicans they want to influence voters by lying about God. God knows all about you. We never ran on a morality ticket but we poses more in our tiny finger than they carry inside.We love the lord. Love you too.

Actually I care more about hypocrisy.

If your going to run off family values, shouting down anyone who doesn't meet your Godly standards, then you should expect to be called out for doing the very thing you speak out against.

FYI: You say "unfair" yet only 4 years ago John Edwards(A DEMOCRAT) immediately dropped out of the Presidential race after finding out about his infidelity. Newt does the exact same thing and he gets to be the front runner.

When our people get caught doing something wrong, they either resign or get kicked out. When a democrats does it he gets promoted and praised by his party. At least the Republicans have some idea of values.

Well, from that angle (which I don't suggest, as it ignores certain facts), then:

Who would you vote for?

The party that champions ethics and morals and sometimes fails;

OR

The party that vilifies those that champion ethics and morals and dismisses those same champions for doing so, while acting like ethics and morals are unimportant?

Who would you trust in office?

Who would you trust with your kids' future?

Who would you trust with your kids, period?

Your argument, trolling as it is, is silly.

It ignores that many Democrats fight for values and ethics as well, and many Republicans don't. It ignores that ethics and values ARE important, and that it IS better to have someone who HAS ethics than not, who HAS values than not, who HAS morals than not.

Or pick an immoral, unethical, valueless clod who spends more time vilifying those who have those things than developing the civilized, cultured, and reasonable limits necessary for society to exist.

It's that simple.

Ethics, folks. Give them a try.

Or spend your life around those who don't have them and find out why ethics are wise.

You are expected to uphold them because you beat the drum. The left doesn't beat that same drum as we know that values are about far more than just sex.

Funny, that black guy in te white house seems to manage just fine at living up to family values. but then, he's beaten the conservatives in every other way. So its no surprise.
