I need a roof repair?

I have an old 8" flue from an old floor furnace. The furnace was removed a couple of years ago but the chimney was left. This morning the roof started leaking there. I have plywood and shingles but am not able to do the repair. How much could I expect to pay to have the old flue pulled and the hole patched? It is no more than 2' below the peak on a steep roof. The roof is less than 3 years old in good condition with new decking.

Update:

I value each answer.

I got an estimate and checked out a company, but will have to wait to afford it.

I can't find the papers for the roofer to check warranty. I am still a step away from the wheel chair LOL But I can't climb a ladder and handle materials. My wife is afraid I am going to try but I know better.

I am afraid to ask for help and need to get past that. I used to love to do things for my neighbors so I know there is someone.

It's good to hear from each of you. Merry Christmas!

I know absolutely zilch on chimney repair, and of course am not able either, but sure wish I could help you! How are you doing? IF I remember correctly you are physically challenged and your home transportation is a wheelchair isn't it? Surely someone can help you out here...!! Don't be afraid to ask for help...church folks are wonderful to lend a hand.

    Hi Keith

Your roof is only 3 yrs old. I would think its still under some kind of warranty. Call rhe people that installed your roof and ask what they can do. Usually you get anywhere from 10yrs to 30yrs depreciating warrantry.

Merry Christmas and good to hear from you
