Is there a secret to writing lyrics?
I love to read and write and music is my life. I always have difficulties when I attempt to write lyrics though... Is there some type of secret to it that I haven't been let in on or something?

Write down the emotions and feelings you want to pass through your lyrics. Come up with some adjectives, nouns and phrases you might want to put in there that connect to the feelings. Later, after you come up with words, you link them together.
e.g.:
Jealousy, want, impatient, infatuated.
Don't want to be jealous, want you, can't wait, in love.
"Don't want jealousy to get in my way."
"I can tell that I'm falling for you."
"Can't help but notice you never want to stay."
and so on.

Write lyrics for Jesus Christ. Rawkfist, Boom, Slam, [written via Thousand Foot Krutch, P.O.D. {Payable On Death}, and tobyMac] and special songs are all songs that have recieved plenty mainstream secular awareness given that that of their Christian beliefs [me too]. If you want to be victorious, do it for Christ. P.S. That is, once you check roughly him.
