Laptop recording solution?
Basically i want to record gameplay but i can play at 130fps but screen recording programs drop me to less then 1fps. NO SCREEN RECORDING PROGRAMS. I need a solution such as hardware that i can attach via usb or hdmi that does the job of recording it since my laptop video card can't. I have an HDPVR for recording my xbox, i need something similar that does not require a computer on the other end but rather records itself or can be plugged into my external hard drive. any ideas?
No screen recording software, you wont get best answer, and given a thumbs down
No saying buy a new computer, my computer is fine and i cant get a better laptop for under $2,000 not worth it, again thumbs down answer
Need a recording hardware solution, a name, a link, anything useful to my description.
please and thank you
Thank you finally someone with great advice. ok you were right i do have that exact hdpvr, and i have tried what you said BUT i didnt use the hdmi to component converter you linked i used this one.

do you think if i got the one you linked instead it would work? the one i linked when hooked up the hdpvr program itself said no video source (and i did have it on to have video through hdmi) i know something about computers but im not 12 years, maybe 4 or 5 but i dont have much experience in this area.
what would be the difference between your adapter and my plug?

"I have an HDPVR for recording my xbox."
Let me guess... it connects to your computer via USB while also being connected to your xbox. You can use the DVR you already have, just hear me out...
This WILL work:
1. Connect your computer to this:

2. Then connect that box's video output ports to your DVR.
3. Keep it connected to your computer using USB.
So, you computer should be connected via USB AND it should go through that video adapter into the video inputs on your DVR.
Then just hit record and play your game. The DVR will do the actual recording NOT your pc. Same thing as if you had it connected to your Xbox only it's your PC.
That's the route I would take...
I guess you could get a stand alone DVR but I think you will be frustrated by how hard it is to find a DVR with HD inputs like your XBox DVR has.
My assumption is that you have something like this:

Most DVR systems assume you want to record from a coax (TV stations) or rca composite input (SDTV for VCR's or DVD players). For computer video niether of those are a viable option.

Sounds to me such as you elect a preamp (a mixer is likewise a preamp, yet once you in basic terms checklist one music at a time you do not easily choose one). i take advantage of an artwork tube preamp (has a hotter sound than stable state) - around $seventy 9 - has outfitted in phantom potential, which you will choose in case you get the Rode. not something incorrect with the Rode (or the SM-fifty 8) - i'm not partial to Behringer. once you're saying an XLR to USB adaptor, I presume you at the instant are not conversing some preamp.
