How much would a road trip from Michigan to Alaska cost? (Best guess)?

It is on my bucket list. I need a ballpark price what the total cost would be about. It is 4000 miles one way from where I live in Michigan to Anchorage. Pretty please just make an educated guess(:

Thanks in Advance!

well if it's 4000 miles, lets say your car gets 20 miles a gallon. that would be 200 gallons of gas one way. if gas is 3.30 a gallon. it would be 670.00 for gas one way to get there. so just to get there and back would be 1340.00 dollars. food and spending the night along the way would be extra. it will be

about a 6 to 8 day trip each way, depending on how far you drive in a day. as a guess, counting gas food and staying places on the way and back, i would say some where between 2000-2500.00

Number of miles, divided by your MPG, times price of a gallon of gas, plus hotel and meal expenses.

Remember that you'll need a passport to get into Canada and then back into the US, or an enhanced driver's license.

You can get a road atlas with maps for the entire U.S. at Walmart or on Amazon for $10 or $12. Far cheaper and more convenient than buying individual state maps.
