Atheist pls answer! non-atheist can answer too?

WHY ARE MOST PEOPLE INSULTED, AND MORE OFTEN BULLY THOSE CHRISTIANS WHO OPENLY EXPRESSES THEIR FAITH TO GOD??

I just saw the news on Tim Tebow(an NFL player) who openly express his faith on every game. Now he is being ridiculed, insulted and trashed for it. Why? I'm a Christian, and people say we are being disrespectful and we shouldn't show our faith in public. It's our view in life, why can't we be respected for it? Atheists trash Jesus and God a lot. We don't trash, atheist or other religions. We are actually taught to respect other peoples beliefs and not shove our own on them.

Pls explain to me cause I don't get it..

(BTW, if your gonna insult, might as well add a really good answer/argument and not just dumb answers like "coz religious people are stupid"

Update:

wow. I actually had more intellegent answers and straight forward opinions when i posted this in "singles&dating" category. It is true that a LOT of christians are BLIND FOLLOWERS. A priest from the Philippines once told me that true faith is achieved with questions and doubt. And sadly some christians follow what is told without questions as if its the law. I am no Hypocrite. We should not be ashamed of what we believe in and instead we should share it. But that doesn't mean were shoving it. If you like what we shared, then good. If you don't, its still ok. That is true christianity.

I can't deny that there are christians that haven't even opened the bible and barely went to church but are the loudest when it comes to arguing about religion. Same to as Atheist and other religions

People who live in the public spotlight are gonna get trashed no matter what they believe, sweetheart. If there was an open avowed atheist in the NFL, don't think for a minute that he wouldn't be trashed.

They sometimes are killed for their faith. People dont like to be told they are wrong and they hate to be told how to live their lives. Gods thought on life is radical and for the most part has some restraints. Supprizingly enough people recieve less freedom from heart ach and pain if they do it Gods way. But there is that song, ( I did it my way). Take for example smoking, we know it is a killer but it doesnt stop us does it. Even when people we love die from it we sing (my way). In the beginning we say oh well we have to die from something, cocky like we know something God doesnt. Then when the doctor says Im sorry but I have bad news then we say why didnt God do something. He has been telling us all a long. The best advice I can give is when things get tough, while others are ringing there hads and have nothing to say, the christian can open Gods word and give peace and talk about a better place. So when the bullying starts just think who will have the last word.

I respect the fact that you try not to bash other religions and Atheism, but you can't deny that many Christians DO attack others.

It doesn't take very long in R&S to see that.

    Exhibit A:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgILX...

I don't like being told I'm a God-hating, Satanist heathen with no morals. I HAVE seen questions like that more times than I can count. Alot of people are insulting when they see a Muslim on his knees during prayer, I don't know why.

I can't speak on behalf of the Atheists, and YOU can't speak on behalf of Christians, whether it be positive or negative, becomes jerks and idiots can be found in every race, nationality, gender, age, religion, etc, etc.

Christianity has been trying to convert people all the time. As an atheist, I don't support anyone being bullied for what they believe. I think religion can be abominable to mankind. And if you keep your religion to yourself and not proselytize, I would have no problem at all with you.

If you pray to God that you score a touchdown in some stupid game, then you need to open your eyes and go to the real world. There are parents in third world countries who are watching their children die of illnesses...and then idiots like Tim Tebow are PRAYING for a ******* touch down.

This is why I hate CHristians. They have their priorities messed up.

As for your part that Christians don't trash Atheists and orther religions----LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Come over and meet my Christian family

"We don't trash, atheist or other religions. We are actually taught to respect other peoples beliefs and not shove our own on them."

You must occupy a different planet to mine ;)

George H.W. Bush: No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God.

Kid, if you and your people didn't go to such extraordinary lengths to try to convince me and my people that all that imaginary little space chappie stuff wasn't any more than primitive superstition, you and your people would probably never hear from me and my people... just saying.

Why are people insulted, eh? Insults are often responses to perceived offenses. They're also sometimes unjustified and uncalled-for forms of verbal aggression that are deployed for personal gain by trying to destroy the social status of other people.

Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference between the two.

For eons MAN did what Tim Tebow does today: Baal, Thor, Odin, Zeus, Ra, Inti, Mana, Apollo, Athenea, Acolmiztli, Toth, Amon, Crom, etc, etc.

Me? . . . for the last 10 years I've learned that praying isn't going to change a game's result.

There are plenty of atheists who don't do that. But I think the ones who tend to belittle and degrade do so for the same reason that certain types bash homosexuals. They do so because they know deep inside that there is a little part of them that believes. That part scares the heck out of them and they are too afraid to examine it. So, like the homophobe who is secretly homosexual, I think the especially vocal Christian bashers might have a similar issue.

Look don't ask questions of Atheists here because half of them are rude and wont listen to your questions and there also trolls and they say there is no god but really they know there is God they don't want to believe because they don't anyone telling them how to live
