What is the attraction to acting?

It seems that so many young people want to "become" an actor. I've acted. It's one of the most difficult tasks I've ever undertaken: why? Because I took it seriously and wanted to do it well. It is exhausting. It is humiliating. It is hateful. It is in the hands of others in terms of final product (acting partners, directors, choreographers, etc.). So, I don't get it. What's the attraction?

Have you ever been on stage live? It's amazing! I really like books and acting is like making the books come alive and you being the main character. It does take a lot of work but I find that it's worth it in the end. You get to share a message too. I've been in an extremely depressing play about the holocaust, and my castmates and I found ways to have fun during it. You get to meet new people too.

Well, I'm sorry that you didn't personally enjoy acting, but a lot of people do. Personally, I don't understand the attraction of many sports. I find them exhausting, humiliating, and hateful. But I do understand that a lot of people disagree with me and see the excitement and fun of them.

There are goods and bads of everything. For me, the good parts of theatre outweigh the bad 100 fold. For other people the good parts of sports outweigh the bad. Or of science. Or of any other activity and interest.

In short, different people like different things.

Some kid's think they're going to become famous before they actually realize how hard it really is. Some people also act to escape who they are maybe? Imagination and stuff.

They go with their heart. And apparently, your's isn't in theater. And no, i'm not being rude, I'm just saying that if it was hard for you, It might be easy for another.
