5x-2/3(x+5) = 7x-(x-1) answer is supposed to be -13/5?

i'm usually good with this but the 7x-(x-1) threw me off

Update:

oh i see we distribute the - sign okay.. but now wen i done the math i ended up with 7/5 wth can i be doing wrong!?!

(3)5x-2/3x(3) +10/3(3)= 6x(3)+1(3)

15x-2x+10= 18x+3

13x+10=18+3

-3 -3

-----------------------

13x+7=18x

-13x -13x

7=5x

x= 5/7

now what did i do wrong?

Update 2:

wow after reviewing it i realized its supposed to be 15x-2x-10 not +10

thanks everyone though!

    Rearrange the terms to get...

    5x - 2x/3 - 10/3 = 7x - x + 1

    13x/3 - 10/3 = 6x + 1

    13x/3 - 6x = 1 + 10/3

    -5x/3 = 13/3

    Hence...

    x = 13/3 * -3/5

    x = -13/5

    I hope this helps!

    Yes its X= -13/5

    The right side is simply solved like this

    =7x-(x-1)

    =7x-x+1

    =6x+1

    Yes.

    Just imagine there is a 1 in front of the parenthesis.

    7x-1(x-1)
