My Compaq won't boot up?

I'm not very 'tech-savvy' so to speak. When I attempt to power my computer up it only shows the red 'Compaq' logo with the usual 'boot menu, setup, system recovery' options at the bottom. However, I can't select any of these because my keyboard won't work either. There's a light at the back of the computer, but it's solid green. I don't know what to do.
