At what age are kids too old to share a room?

Is it fair for teenage siblings, a boy and a girl, to have to share a room? The boy doesn't care, but the girl is uncomfortable and hates sharing a room with her brother. Is it reasonable for their parents to make them share a bedroom if they want their own space?

Update:

Thanks everyone for the answers, this makes me so much more confident to talk it over with my parents.

Yeah, duh, I am the teenage girl.

Girls should have their own room at least by the age of 10. That's when she body starts to mature and it actually matters if her brother sees she nude.

properly i might say your 4 365 days previous daughter remains youthful adequate to proportion including your 2 365 days previous. My youthful brother and sister shared a room till they have been ten, this is only truly whilst they hit puberty that ladies and boys would desire to have their own area. and then that could go away the seven and 9 365 days olds at the same time. That way they have comparable mattress circumstances and a while. I shared a room with my sister till i became into 13 (and for the 2nd am actual sharing along with her lower back!) and jointly as i might want to declare it did me no harm I did discover it extremely confusing dozing on my own whilst i ultimately have been given my own room. yet I have been given used to it after a jointly as and that's only me. i comprehend the way you experience, there are 5 babies in our family members and that i've got shared with each and every person different than my youthful brother! this is confusing to correctly known who to place the place. Oh and don't overlook, you will would desire to squeeze your oldest in someplace whilst she's abode for the holiday journeys!

My friend has a twin brother and they shared their room until they were like 10. Then they got their own rooms.

yeah the girl should definitely have her own room. It's a matter of privacy! You need to talk to your parents and straighten it out. If you have a big house, and it's not a space or money issue, then you NEED your own room. speak up!

I believe there's no age limit for that. I'm 17 and I still walk naked in front of my sister and parents.

If you need more space you should totally ask your parents for your own room. But I don't think you should ever be ashamed of your brother.

    FAIR? - life isn't fair

If the parents can not afford them to not share a room that is just how it will have to be. Years & years ago kids rooms were up in a loft with just a curtain separating the boys & girls. Even in their teens.

    8-10 at most

just tell your parents it's time for them to move into a bigger house to accommodate their growing kids. They might not be able to afford it, but it needs to be said
