Anyone own a Snuggie...?

Just in case you don't know what a Snuggie is http://www.mysnuggiestore.com/

I see these everywhere. I have actually been debating on buying one.

It gets awfully cold at nights in my house. So I think it might be a good investment.

Do you own one? What about your kids?

Would you buy one for somebody for the holidays?

I bought one for everyone in my family. They were like $7 at walmart one day. They are perfect for keeping warm. Ugly as can be and huge but, they keep you warm for hanging around the house watching tv and stuff on a cold night.

My daughter does have one. I would buy one for someone that has mentioned they get cold at their house.

I never had an official Snuggie until Friday, my dad bought me a Steelers one for my birthday lol. Just in time too. My husband is from San Francisco so there is a big rivalry in my house tonight.

I bought my 9 year old son a sports themed snuggie-like blanket for Christmas last year but haven't found one small enough for my 3 year old daughter yet.

I never bought one for anyone else. Most of the people I know are naturally warm, I'm always cold so I get all the hoodies and blankets as gifts.

I don't have a snuggie.... I have 5 of them. 2 are regular, one has a football team logo (not specifically the "snuggie" brand but the same thing) one is pink (and a portion of the proceeds for that one went to Susan G Komen) and the last is green and has Michelangelo from the ninja turtles.

My daughter also has several including a pink one (the same as mine), a blue one because that is her favorite color, and a ninja turtle one with Leonardo.

I actually find they can be too warm so if your home is particularly cold, it could be the way to go. Or perhaps that new one that is basically fleece Dr Dentons, complete with flap in the back

I have given them as Christmas gifts as well.

    Hope this helps

If you are a book reader or tv clicker, they are great! My kids have one each from their grandmother, and I borrow them. It's better than a robe, because, like a blanket, it covers your feet, but then you can just shrug it off to run for the phone.

When I was a kid, I had something similar, but it wrapped all the way around you and snapped in the front and around your arms, covering your feet. Apparently they were discontinued because old people would fall asleep, the phone would ring, they would forget they were in it, and they would jump up and fall down, and break their hips.

    I would never buy one.

I used to work for a company that sold them through mail order. The material is actually quite thin so they aren't as warm as you'd think. You'd do better buying a nice Sherpa blanket. They're very cozy and warm.

I have a warm robe that zips up all the way. I don't need a blanket with sleeves that hangs open in the back, and would not buy one for myself or anyone else.

Just get a warm throw (electric, down or other) if you are cold.

  • I think they are the stupidest thing ever. It is like a backwards robe. If I wanted to look stupid in a backwards robe I would turn my significantly thicker, nicer robe backwards. At least robes have ties.

My kids also have robes. They have sweaters, blankets, etc, as well, too.

If someone was kind enough to get my kids or myself a snuggie for Christmas I would smile, thank them, and go grab some store credit at Walmart.

Yup and I turned it into a curtain. Just buy a rope it's the same thing only cheaper.

They are ridiculous. Get a sweater or thicker blanket for the cold.

My hubbie bought me one of these and i thought he had gone insane but its fantastic and the kids are always having a crafty snuggle in it.
