Marry my girlfriend from Guatemala?

Can I marry my girlfriend from Guatemala or would that be a problem? We plan to get married in 4yrs. I don't know anything about her personal status right now. She has been here for 7yrs and she can travl on planes. Would we have any problems getting married? I'm a legal U.S. citizen.

    If she can travel on planes, that gives a good sign that she is not an illegal immigrant.

    After you marry or before you do, go down to Guatemala and visit Antigua. It is very nice there and they cater to tourists. You will see some american business there in terms of movie screeenings thru videos. The restaurants and cafes there are nice too, You can sign up for touring volcano.

    There's a good chance she's either an illegal immigrant or here on Temporary Protected Status. Getting married is easy. Getting her a Green Card will depend on her exact status. Ask her.

    Check her visa status. If she is illegal there is no way for her to ever become legal through marraige,

    You don't want a life of misery so make sure she is legal first.
