What Should I Do In My Friendship?

I recently transferred to a new school where I knew close to no one. I made a few friends gradually, as a result of joining the school volleyball team. one very kind girl went out of her way to include my in activities. We started to hang out, and we sometimes hang out on weekends, but always doing an activity. Whenever we are simply talking to one another, I freeze up and lose my personality. Then, when we aren't together, I can't help but obsess about every interaction we have. How do I act normally and calm down? Also, is this obsession normal? Thanks in advance !

I understand where you are coming from. I think that you just need to get to know her better. It seems to me that you have a little bit of a trust problem. I'm not saying that is the end of the world. It will keep you safe from people who try to hurt you. In order to get over this, you heed to be comfortable with her. I would keep doing activities, but make them milder and milder every time, with more time to talk each time. For someone in your situation, I imagine it would be easier to go in an inch at a time, rather than jumping in the deep end. Forgive the cliched analogy.

So are youu nervous or something? If youu are, juust let youur new friend know that, maybee once youu tell youur friend, she'll laugh and tell youu to just be yourself. And so youu will, thenn little by little youu'll feel perfectly fine(:

    Thats normal, it's self-consciousness.

You just have to act confident, if nothing else. Maybe you just have to get to know her. I'm not going to tell you to be yourself because that makes everything harder. Always.

    Good luck!
