When buying a house is the furniture included?

When buying a house is the furniture used included? i.e. on real estate websites they show pictures of the house with beds, desks, paintings etc.. or do you have to buy everything yourself and all you're buying is the house not including the furniture?

It may be included, it may not be. It depends upon the purchaser, seller and what the purchase contract includes. It is not unusual for some specific pieces to be included, especially large or historically significant items like a piano or grandfather clock.

Typically, you are only purchasing the house with the attached fixtures (sinks, bathtubs, toilets, hot tubs, built-in pools, etc.). In most contracts, most kitchen equipment such as ovens, stove tops and ranges are included, but refrigerators and freezers are not.

The purchase price listed on a house is usually only the cost of the home with the attached fixtures. If you want all of the furniture to be include, you will need to further negotiate with the seller for them to include some or all the furniture. While it is not unheard of that all of the furniture is sold with a house, most purchasers would rather decorate and furnish their home in their style.

No, not usually but the family thats selling can decide to give the new family some of the furniture if they don't want it anymore and the new family either likes it or is in need of furniture quickly to fill the house for the time being but furniture is NOT usually included.

Okay the pictures of furniture are usually the house owners furniture. I don't think they'll be giving away all their furniture. It is just to show what the rooms could be used for and what they look like with furniture in them. If you are buying a house, the most furniture you're going to get is usually the kitchen appliances like the fridge and oven and curtains/blinds.

Ask the seller. Usually people leave their furniture when the house looks better with it. It shows you what it could be while hiding possible flaws. Look very closely. My friend sold her house and she had it decorated magnificently. The house was in excellent condition but just looked so good with her things in there. It sold in one day because it was a doll house. She was not selling her furniture under any circumstances because they represented a life time of perfect choices.

About 99% of the time no. The other 2% is either when the seller has agreed to include it OR you buy a model home of a new construction development and AGAIN that was negotiated as part of the sale.

If they list the house as "furnished" then the furniture goes with the house.

I some States the curtains must stay with the house...but...in some States even the curtains are not part of the sale.

Usually no, unless specifically included in the contract.
