D because cytokinesis is when one cell becomes two cells, this occurs after telophase.

the chromosomes do make exact copies of each other and then split off into two new cells

Cytokinesis is the process of the cytoplasm pinching so that two new cells can be formed. Find out about cytokinesis and the process of cell replication with information from a science teacher in this free video on physiology and the human body.

Looks to me like it is the process of a cell dividing into two daughter cells. After which a new cell wall forms. Myself if I were you would go with A.
