2004 Nissan Altima 3.5 crankshaft/cam sensor symptoms?
My car every once in a while dies on me and it did it today in the middle of the road, sometimes it cranks back perfectly but sometimes I have to pump my gas pedal to get it going again. The engine light came on when I was trying to get it cranked again. I thought the cam sensor was only common in the 2.5's? After a little research this is what I came up with. I hope it's nothing too major.

Even 3.5 liter V-6 have cam and crank sensors that fail make sure when diagnosing that the connectors are cleaned out. Sometime oil leaks into and shorts the cam and crank sensors. Another bad thing that happens is the timing chain jumps timing and the car may stop starting up all the time.Good Luck
