Assuming evolution is eternal and we survive devastation created for ourselves - where does our species evolve from here-on?

I think medical science will evolve man itself. We have only just touched the tip with it so far and look what we can do. Its amazing. I believe quite possibly that 'man' will eventually get to the point where minds will be read and maybe telapathic communication will be the main prevalance on earth and man may by then live on the moon and mars. I feel this will happen. Water may be like a precious thing one far day as we will have to adapt to rising temperatures ....or will there be another random ice age? who knows????As far as mans physical bodily evolution goes i think total recall wouldnt be far off, you know that Arnie film. Or robocop, like hybrids. Maybe medical science will create 'super beings' and mix DNA say with birds so we could fly?? or with a fish so to swim. lol

There's no 'irrefutably' proving evidence that we've 'evolved' so far, so why would we expect to evolve from here on? We've been this way for around 45ka, as h.sapiens sapiens (modern humans), with no indisputably proven predecessor, i.e. the true evidence shows that we just 'suddenly' appeared, and this is how we will remain, progressing and advancing along the way, of course, but never changing into another species.
EDIT
To, 'the guy'. What more "sources" would you like, my friend, other than what I've quoted, i.e. that there is, "no 'irrefutably' proving evidence that we've 'evolved' so far"? It was thought, and indeed preached by our trusty 'evolution' scientists, that we evolved from the Neanderthal, but this has been proven, through genetics, to be false, as everyone now knows, and not that it has been similarly 'proven' that we evolved from anything else. There is not one tiny shred of 'indisputable' evidence, in either the fossil or genetic fields, that proves, without a shadow of doubt, the honest validity of the ToE (Theory of Evolution), that it is now the 'fact' of evolution, and there really should be such evidence, out of the mountains of evidence so far before us. And as for a 'common ancestor'? Where, precisely, is there ANY evidence of one? What kind of creature was it? What's its name even? I realise that 'evolution' is a reasonable and even feasible answer to life's origin, and it's a possible valid explanation in a far, far older universe out there, but there's absolutely no evidence that it has happened on this planet. There's only evidence of vast varieties of species, including our own, 'suddenly' appearing (and disappearing). I also understand (and sympathise) the reasons for evolutionist's strong adherence to a 'faithful belief' in the ToE, in light of the mountains of information cramming the multitude of biased websites on the subject, albeit so ambiguous, contradictory, confusing and misleading, and, most importantly, devoid of ANY actual 'proving' evidence at all. So the 'layman's' insistence that the ToE is now an accepted 'fact', confounds me as much as does that of the creationist's 'faithful belief' that "God did it", neither with the 'unequivocal' evidence to support their beliefs!
Hope this explains my concerns a little clearer?

Great reply forbidden_planet. People most commonly misunderstand how evolution works. It is typically assumed that evolution is striving in the direction of a few far-off finish target, the proverbial top of evolution if you are going to, and by way of arrangement the ones species that have not made the reduce, with no trouble quit evolving and get left by way of the wayside. This could not be further from the reality, notably considering there is not any top of evolution, nobody most sensible species, and no grasp plan on the subject of nature. (There could also be a dominant species from time-to-time, however that lasts handiest so long as the atmosphere that the species lives in does not difference vastly.) Evolution rather simply describes the approach of difference that each one species consistently suffer over generations according to the atmosphere they reside in. It isn't a proactive approach, this can be a passive approach. Think of it therefore or influence of the way good a species' genes fit up in opposition to the atmosphere they reside in. If they may be able to continue to exist lengthy ample to breed, then their genes can be handed directly to the following iteration. There is regularly a few variant in a species offspring (or else all toddlers might be clones) and it's those editions that permit a species to "adapt" to alterations of their atmosphere. I placed adapt in rates considering a species does not truthfully do something if their atmosphere alterations. The members within the species with no trouble both can manage the brand new difference, or they are not able to they usually die. But due to the fact that no longer all members are the identical (once more, no longer clones) it's fairly feasible that a few members inside a species have a precise attribute that enables them to outlive even as others inside the identical species don't. This is how species evolve and diverge into separate species as good. If you wish a few examples, simply appear up in close to any top tuition biology guide the examples of the tree moths in England for the duration of the Industrial Revolution, or the finches at the Galapagos Islands. The challenge of considering that people have developed and apes have no longer is due in part to an lack of know-how of the way evolution works, and in part to a influence of the tradition that we are living in that locations an excessively-inflated feel of value on being a human. According to our genetic historical past, people and apes have a average ancestor, however each our species have developed such a lot due to the fact that then, that neither folks appear something like that ancestor. It isn't like for thousands of years there have been those ancestors roaming round after which in the future, "POOF", Homo sapiens seemed simply with out the entire potential that we have got in these days. It has been an overly sluggish approach, and we now have even been by way of speciation ourselves (Homo erectus, Homo habilis, and so on...) and we now have developed to what we're in these days considering the we now have "tailored" to the atmosphere that we are living in. Apes have developed to what they're in these days the distinct identical method and considering of the distinct identical factors - they simply had exceptional instances than us. It is unlucky that it has come to be so rough to detect that we people are with no trouble simply an additional facet of this global, and no longer above the legislation of nature. Woo! That was once lengthy, however I wish it is helping...

~~~ Are you seeing what is happening around the world? Rather than seeing just the pain, know that every pain contains an equal amount of 'blessing'!
"Immaturity runs from pain, the wise seek the blessing within!" - Book of Fudd
What we are witnessing is nothing less than the birth pains of a new man!
We have been schizophrenic homo-sapiens for the last 130,000 years!
As there are no more homo-habilis, no more homo-erectus, etc... so goes homo-sapiens!
We are at the 'headwaters' (there's that 'birthing' reference again) of a New Man, Homo-Novus!
The schizophrenia is healed/healing and the new humanity is being born!
The old schizophrenic 'sapiens' is dying off and the New Man comes forth bearing the understanding and perception that "IT'S ALL TRUE!" We all truly are 'One', 'unity'.
All IS 'Self'!
It's ALL True!!
All love is 'Self!' love!
All judgment is 'Self!' judgment!
All hate is 'Self!' hate!
All knowledge is 'Self Knowledge'!!!
"The eye by which I see God is the same as the eye by which God sees me. My eye and God's eye are one and the same." - Meister Eckhart
ONE AND THE SAME!
The new, critically updated all inclusive definition of 'Knowledge' is; "that which is perceived"!
All knowledge is 'Self!' knowledge, every moment/percept of existence, all inclusive!
"Perhaps it is the curvature of space that, like a fun-house mirror distorting our own reflection, we imagine strangers." - Mythopoeicon
tat tvam asi ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tat_Tvam_Asi)
The times in which you read this come but once in human history! We are becoming a practically new species! How would we harm anyone knowing that 'that guy' is another feature of 'Self!"
All that exists, all inclusive, is 'Self!'!
Are we not going to sooth our left foot because its way down there and has nothing to do with 'me'!?
boy, you have gotten some really dumb answers on this one. Some alright ones too.
Really, all you're going to get from this is a bunch of speculation unless one has already an ability to foresee the future. You'll probably get better educated guess from ones who study on the subject.
But my opinion - truly humble of an opinion, is that in at least western civilization we have gone up to this point and added technology to make our environment adapt to us in lieu of the other way around. So I believe that we WILL advance in the complexity of our thought and ideas. However, psychologically, and physiologically we sort of hit a plateau of sorts. Yes we might be fine, but all of the old primeval instincts that still linger within us from our earlier years that is embedded in our species DNA blueprint will no longer be bred out of us.
And as far as that goes I'm not exactly sure how to try to predict how that will affect us. So in short, we won't be seeing offshoots of our current lineage; developing new stuff in our DNA, but a slow down of breeding out our unnecessary traits.
Also, Truth Seeker really REALLY needs to show their sources.
Only time will tell, although I think ( This isn't really Scientific at all, this is just opinion.) We might have a better subconscious, there has been alot of cases report of De Ja Vu. Alot of people say humans have been getting longer noses and are taller. This article might be of use to you. I think technology might make us lose alot of things though, I mean we use to have teeth that would never rot;however because of brushing our teeth we lost that.
That is an interesting question.
Two problems;
First, we have a brain and ability to adjust our environment to suit us, instead of the other way around. So, there is no natural selection to push us forward.
Second, our heads and birth canal are about as big as they can get.
So, unless we become marsupials, we can not develop bigger brains.
So, we are pretty much stuck the way we are.
Well eventually your ancestors will evolve into something like me...
& my ancestors will evolve into something like God.
God of course will be trying to evolve into something like Chuck Norris.
I really don't know what you are asking, but if you are asking where we evolved from, then it is Africa.
