A philosopher said Religion is of the Mind, and Spirituality is of the Soul.?

What did the philosopher mean, exactly?

Update:

ew, you neglected to address Spirituality.

Update 2:

Hope.... God created MIND for we Souls. MIND does not exist at the level of God.

Update 3:

Bonsai, Spirituality is not observable [a physical activity].

Update 4:

Bonsai, by "fruit" I presume you mean result. But manifested result is not Spiritual Energy, it is a stepped-down energy, akin to "Word", or "Shabd" in Hindi.

Update 5:

Mary, Religion is entirely supported by MIND. http://about-psychology.com/MIND.html

Update 6:

Bonsai, the 'difference' is relative not actual. There is one Truth, and many relative truths. The Soul, like God is one Reality, and many give their interpretations of this one Truth making it appear as though there are more than one definition, answer, etc.

Update 7:

Ankit, perhaps if "no-mind" could be named beyond "no-mind", that would be helpful?

Update 8:

Thus far, Rocaday seems to have expressed the best answer.... it seems to me.

Update 9:

Sorry, that should be "Rockaday".

Descartes did certainly shelter the concrete reality about idea yet that become extremely it. The inquiring options or the inescapable self nevertheless purely proves that we are some thing, yet doesn`t outline what that some thing is. How ever it does set up that if no longer some thing else we are of the options, exceptionally in words of idea. I don`t imagine the mind and options are a similar or certainly require one yet another. we do require faith that our idea comes from options inspite of the reality that. the position precisely is the options inspite of the reality that? this is a robust question. let's imagine it really is component to the mind yet, the mind is extra of a actual and tangible merchandise, it will be touched, studied and dissected. we are able to describe the electric powered connection that enables us to comprehend the options that we've in options. we are able to`t inspite of the reality that element to the position the options is interior the mind, even if it really is there in any respect even. it will be that electrical energy holds the answer. As our actual bodies want electrical energy to operate it really is plausible that our spirit or essence, the spark of life, is likewise a form of electrical energy. So it type of feels to me that the options may be the element that tethers our soul/spirit to our actual bodies.

Religion describes any practice of a religion. The mind really has no effect on religion. Spirituality is the relationship with the one true God which is Jesus.

The philosopher's terminology is incorrect but evidently, was equating religion as a carnal pursuit in contrast to the observable inward spirituality of the heart(spirit),outwardly expressed.

EDIT...The "fruit" of genuine spirituality, absolutely is observable and is what I was referring to..

EDIT 2...There exists a fundamental difference between Hindi and Christian terminologies, regarding the terms,Soul,Spirit,Mind, soulish and spirituality...

Means Religion is of the Mind, and Spirituality is of the ''No-mind''.

absolutely, i am talking about beyond "no-mind", however one can become no- mind person by two ways, by being totally unconscious after taking drugs, or when one relax and moving towards sleeping after hard working. second way is when one have space consciousness, where he/she is aware of the gaps between sounds, objects and thoughts.

I don't know what he meant.

Thomas Jefferson said: "Religions are all alike---founded on fables and mythology."

Edgar Allan Poe wrote: "All religion, my friend, is simply evolved out of fraud, fear, greed, imagination and poetry."

Robert A. Heinlein wrote: "From the outside, all religions appear equally silly."

I believe these three quotes far more than your philosopher's quote.
