What does this saying mean?

'took an arrow to the knee'

    It's from a video game called "Skyrim"

    A character in it says "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee"

    Honestly, I don't know whats so great about it

    apparently it was from the game called "Skyrim".

    In the game there is guard who said
