Should there be a minimum age of 18 to post or answer in Politics?

Would this improve the quality of the Q/A here?

I get the feeling many here are under 18.

Update:

"That would be discriminatory".. Yup! Just like 18 for cigarettes, 16 for a driver's license and 21 for alcoholic beverages. Do you have a problem with any of those?

I haven't seen any evidence that 18 year olds are more intelligent than 17 or 16 year olds. I have seen evidence that shows that people under 30-40 have immature brains though.

New research from the UK shows the brain continues to develop after childhood and puberty, and is not fully developed until people are well into their 30s and 40s. The prefrontal cortex is the region at the front of the brain just behind the forehead, and is an area of the brain that undergoes the longest period of development. It is an important area of the brain for high cognitive functions such as planning and decision-making, and it is also a key area for social behavior, social awareness, for empathy and understanding and interacting with other people, and various personality traits.

No an IQ test would be much better, age is just a number. I am under 18 but I am an honors student, i'm probably smarter than most liberals here. Plus i don't post immature, irrelevant, or illiterate comments. An age restriction would render useless, i could easily say im 18 and so could anyone else. An IQ test would prove to be far more effective as it would make for more room for people who actually want to debate on politics and government etc...

    No

Mathematics is gone for the break

    Gender studies is slow

    Poll/survey is filled with fools

You can't get a point across in global warming

The rest I don't care for or don't know

And anyway, either all those people that insult conservatives and liberals for no reason are young people, or older people give bad answers too.

That would be great but how would they enforce it?

IDs can be faked and an IQ test would block out most of the posters here.

The Republican Conservatives do sound like adolescents, but I'm told some of them are actual adults.

I wonder how Yahoo! is going to enforce that provision...

    PS: I'm almost 38 myself. (Jan. 3)
