yes i definitely feel that its underrated.

hardly anyone even knows the movie.

and it always pisses me off when i don't hear the original judy garland version of have yourself a merry little christmas on the radio. they play it by everyone besides the original who it was specifically made for. and whats worse is nobody even seems to know that the words are much different in the original than all the newer "happier" versions of the song.

honestly its one of my all time favorite movies!

i do have to disagree with you about its a wonderful life though.

i don't find it overrated at all. its an amazing movie with an amazing cast and i love it almost as much as meet me in st. louis.

    **edit**

@anja actually she disapproved of the first version that was wrote. she refused to sing it until they changed the words to be "slightly" less sad.

here is the first version that she refused to sing:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, it may be your last,

Next year we may all be living in the past

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, pop that champagne cork,

Next year we will all be living in New York.

No good times like the olden days, happy golden days of yore,

Faithful friends who were dear to us, will be near to us no more.

But at least we all will be together, if the Fates allow,

From now on we'll have to muddle through somehow.

So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

here is the slightly less sad version that she did agree to sing:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

    Let your heart be light.

    Next year all our troubles

    Will be out of sight.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

    Make the Yule-tide gay.

    From now on our troubles

    Will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,

    Happy golden days of yore.

Faithful friends who are dear to us

Will be near to us once more.

Someday soon we all will be together

    If the Fates allow.

Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow.

So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

and just for the heck of it here is the newer version that everyone but me seems to like:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

    Let your heart be light

From now on, our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

    Make the Yuletide gay

From now on, our troubles will be miles away

Here we are as in olden days

    Happy golden days of yore

Faithful friends who are dear to us

Gather near to us once more

Through the years we all will be together

    If the fates allow

So hang a shining star upon the highest bough

And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

I don't think it's underrated. It seems pretty well-known. Did you know that Judy Garland did not want to sing that song? She thought people would dislike her for singing about people being apart on Christmas.

Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" The Black and White version staring Reginald Owen and Gene and Kathleen Lockhart! i like 2 aspects, the section the position Bob C. is going procuring after he changed into sacked, and the ending the position they have the ceremonial dinner and E. Scrooge turns his mind-set round. i imagine that changed into between the finest outdoors of the single with George C. Scott. I have others too... although the list is a ideas too lengthy and time is a ideas to short to bypass into them!
