What was the name of the "big band" country and western dance band from the 40's?

and 50's. I know this is history, but go ask your Dad or Grand Pa please The last time I saw them, was on Austin City Limits about 20 years ago. It was their final performance Thanks.

    ......there were several of the "big band" sound country bands in the 40's and 50's. The most noted one was "Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys". Their songs included ;

    man for country.. all i know bout oldy **** = Hank SR. man... it was the stuff,..and still is- his story tell'n lyrics are still great today to me bro!, and step dad Jim stated ( and he's a pure cowboy cattle love'n ,lasso using true grit Texan down to his soul Dennis man..) Jim said Gene Autry,Patsy Cline, and the non categorized but liked by all the grouped tastes = old blue Eyes "Frank Sinatra" and then there is the Christmas album my family pulls out every year round this time = ( it grows on ya after 30-40 yrs o hear'n it dude), Ace Cannon -Christmas songs , yeehaaa..     yeah i'd have to say probably bob wills is the most likely one of that style that would be on austin city limits too
