Shiny stuff on my mollies...?

I have two mollies in a 10 gallon tank. One of them has shiny silvery stuff all over it and the other only has a few. They seen to be coping well though...if it's some sort of disease then how do I cure it? Is it contagious?

Update:

They've been like this for about 3 weeks, but they seem to be fine. When I kept them with the snails, there was some snow like substance on them. Maybe they caused it?

Update 2:

they were possessed by satan. rip

You might have Oodinium(velevet). I would add some copper sulfate to the tank.

Edit: Malachite Green doesn't do anything with Velvet, whoever said that was looking at the wrong label on the disease chart :/

I'm not too familiar with Mollies as I've never kept them

But it sounds like a disease called "Velvet" (Google it)

You should try to get a medicine containing Malachite Green - it's excellent at curing Velvet, and also cures White Spot/Ich

Only word of caution - remove any light coloured ornaments from your aquarium as the M/Green will stain them

    Good luck :)

Your fish is possessed by satan. I'm just kidding, they are actually supposed to gain those when maturing, they are ways to tell males and females apart.
